Get the Glow with a Green Smoothie…

I had my first green smoothie today and it sparked one of those, “Where have you been all of my life?!” moments.

The amazing part of green smoothies is that you get your servings of fruits and vegetables all in one tasty drink. Spinach is known as a nutritional powerhouse that  is an excellent source of beta-carotene (antioxidant) which has been proven to fight cancer and heart disease. Green smoothies are great for weight loss, digestive health, supporting the immune system, and not to mention a tasty & healthy snack!

Warning: Side-effects are glowing hair, radiant skin, strong nails, and bright eyes!

All you need is a blender and these ingredients: (I modified my recipe from this website.)

  • 1 small banana
  • 1 small peach
  • 1/2 kiwi
  • a couple handfulls of spinach
  • water (just enough to blend)
  • ice (if desired)
Feel free to mix it up! Use the base of bananas and add any other fruit you’d like!
Don’t let the green color turn you off (hint:  if you add berries to your mix it won’t be green…). Take my word for it, it tastes FANTASTIC! The spinach has a very mild taste that actually compliments the fruits! A green smoothie is a fast, easy, and delicious way to get a big dose of vitamins and minerals! Aren’t you curious??
